TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 2024

MAXIMUM EVENTS: A player may only play in a maximum of two sequential Division Singles events and a maximum of two sequential age-limited Singles events.

EQUIPMENT: White plastic ITTF-approved 40+ balls shall be used for all Tournaments.

I.T.T.F. rules will apply to clothing, rackets, gluing, equipment, and control of the tournament. Any query of the legality or acceptability of playing attire shall be decided by the Tournament Referee. Gluing is not permitted within the stadium. The main colour of the clothing shall not be WHITE. Tracksuits are not to be worn without the permission of the referee

TIME OUT RULE: The Time Out Rule shall only apply to all events.

REGISTRATION: All players must be 2024 registered members of TTACT, an Affiliated State Association, or an Association Affiliated with ITTF.

5 (a)

REGISTRATION: (ACT CLOSED) All players must be 2024 registered competition members of TTACT.

REFUSAL OF ENTRY: The (Event) Tournament Committee reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse entry into the tournament by any player. If the (Event) Tournament Committee exercises this option, it will notify the player accordingly and refund any monies paid.

EVENT FORMAT: All matches are the best of 5 games. All Age-Limited Singles matches will be played in round-robin groups of 3 with winners advancing to the knockout. All other singles & doubles events will be played as a Knockout (for the avoidance of doubt, this format may only be altered where there are insufficient or unequal numbers in an event).

Events may start earlier than advertised if all players are available at the discretion of the (Event) Tournament Committee.

7 (a)

(SENIORS) All Men's and Women's Open singles matches shall be the best of 5 games until the Quarter Final Stage where matches shall be the best of 7 games.

7 (b)

(SENIORS) PARA SINGLES: Players must have a current national or international physical disability classification for Classes 1 - 11. Depending on entries, players will then place into groups of similar disability classes. If you do not have a current classification, please contact the Tournament Director.

DIVISION EVENTS Are open to players who are eligible to play in an Aged Singles Event on the day of the tournament and are not rated above the points stated on the entry form for the particular Division according to Ratings Central Points as of the published closing date for entries.

Any player who has no Ratings Central Points or ranking can be allowed to play in Division 1 & 2 events with progress. No age group event is allowed unless there’s proof of standard.

This tournament is conducted under TTACT Member Protection and Code of Conduct Regulations. It is a condition of entry that all players agree to abide by the TTACT regulations and are liable under the regulations for any breaches.  All players will submit to TTACT's authority with respect to any disciplinary matter that occurs during, or arises out of, this tournament.

All TTACT-sanctioned tournaments will be subject to filming and photography by participants, coaches, and other approved persons. Participants (parents/guardians of players under age 18) give consent for the entrant to be filmed or photographed.

Any registered member who currently plays in pennant or competition at an unaffiliated body shall be refused entry.

The (Event) Tournament Committee, in conjunction with the Referee, shall have sole management of the Championships, and their decisions are final.

The (Event) Tournament Committee shall have the power to cancel any event which attracts insufficient entries and to vary any conditions as it may deem necessary. Players entering an event that is cancelled, or for which they are not eligible, will be placed in an alternative event if one is suitable.

 SCORESHEETS & UMPIRING:

  • Upon collecting the score sheet, players should take their opposition and an umpire to the table.
  • If unable to find an umpire, please report to tournament control immediately.
  • All players must assist by umpiring when requested. Refusal to umpire upon request from the Referee or tournament control may result in disqualification.
  • Winning players must check, sign, & return the score sheet to the office immediately upon completion of matches.
  • A maximum 2-minute hit-up is allowed prior to the commencement of a match.
  • Any player not ready to play when called may be disqualified by the Referee.

REFUND & "NO SHOW" POLICY: No refunds shall be allowed to players withdrawing during events. No refunds may be provided when withdrawing after the close of entries. All entry fees must be paid prior to the the date of the tournament, otherwise, the player will not be included in the draw.

FORFEITS: A forfeit at a tournament shall be deemed a loss against the forfeiter, except where an athlete withdraws before the start of an event.

For the purposes of this regulation

  • An event at a tournament starts at the listed commencement time even though a singles match or matches may not have been played
  • A player who does not attend on the day of the tournament is deemed to have withdrawn before the start of the event – and whilst it is expected such players notify the Tournament Director of their withdrawal, a failure to do so shall not affect the operation of this regulation
  • A player who does attend on the day of the tournament may only withdraw from an event prior to the listed commencement time – such player is required to notify the Tournament Director or Referee of their withdrawal from an event and a failure to do so shall render such player liable to a forfeited loss.

Example 1: Player A enters the U/18 Boys Singles event which is listed to commence at 11.00 am on Saturday, 1 March. Player A does not attend the tournament on the relevant date. For the purposes of the event, Player A is deemed to have forfeited from the event – this will not affect his athlete ranking points.

Example 2: Player B enters the U/18 Boys Singles event which is listed to commence at 11.00 am on Saturday, 1 March. Player B does attend the tournament on the relevant date. Player B plays in the U/15 Boys Singles event at 9.00 am but then advises the Tournament Director at 10.30 am that he wishes to withdraw from the U/18 Boys Singles event. For the purposes of the U/18 Boys Singles event, Player B is deemed to have forfeited from the event – this will not affect his athlete ranking points.

Example 3: Player C enters the U/18 Boys Singles event which is listed to commence at 11.00 am on Saturday, 1 March. Player C does attend the tournament on the relevant date. Player C plays in the U/15 Boys Singles event at 9.00 am but then advises the Tournament Director at 11.30 am that he wishes to withdraw from the U/18 Boys Singles event. Player C has not yet played a match in that event even though the event has commenced. For the purposes of the U/18 Boys Singles event, Player C is deemed to have lost his match against his listed opponent – this will affect his athlete ranking points. 16. A forfeit at a pennant competition match shall not be deemed a loss against the forfeiter.

LATE ENTRIES: Acceptance of late entries is at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

CHANGES TO ENTRIES: Change requests need to be emailed to the Tournament Director (tournaments@tabletennisact.org.au) Changes requested on time will be processed an updated invoice provided. Changes that can be made are; additional event(s), delete event(s), change double partner(s) or withdrawal from event

The submission of an Entry Form is deemed as acceptance of these Conditions of Entry to the Tournament.
